Requirements

We are looking for an individual or couple to look after our 1 bedroom, 1 study Victorian cottage + lovely cat in North Melbourne over the New Year's period. If the dates don't suit you perfectly but you're otherwise interested, let us know – we can offer some flexibility :)

The house is on the older side but has a new bathroom with internal laundry. We use the front room as a study / storage room, so there's one queen bed available in the house. We have a cozy living / dining room adjoined by a small courtyard with an electric BBQ. We're super close to trams into the city, about a 10 minute walk from North Melbourne train station (train takes 25 minutes to Williamstown beach, perfect for the summer!) and have various bus lines nearby as well. The Royal Parklands are at the other end of the suburb, and Errol Street and Victoria Street are right nearby as well for all your food & drink needs.

We also have a lovely young cat named Olive who's part of the house/petsitting package! She's a playful two-year-old domestic shorthair indoor-only cat. At first, she might be a little shy, but once you've fed her and played with her, she'll be your best friend! She loves sitting on people's laps, doing all sorts of acrobatics on her cat tree and sleeping in her little window bed at the front of the house. She's very easy to look after – feeding and playing twice daily, making sure her water's filled & her toilet's clean, and ensuring she never goes outside (major roads very nearby), which should be easy enough as she's not very keen :) We've had an incident where a house guest left a window open that she fell out of (we very luckily found her again after 36 awful hours), so that last one is pretty essential.

Outside of that, you're free to read your way through our extensive library of contemporary literary fiction and poetry, cook up meals in our kitchen, make coffees and peruse our herbal tea collection, take the train to Williamstown Beach or the tram into the city to explore, or work in our home office that comes with a height-adjustable table.

If you have experience looking after cats and would like to stay in our house for a little bit, please get in touch!
