Requirements

Looking for a house/pet sitter is a homebody content to spend most of the day relaxing at home.

Our Pets:

- Our dog Rosie (Labrador) is a sweetie. She was quite overweight when we adopted her so she has 3 meals spread throughout the day (am/noon/5.30-6.00pm). Rosie will paw at you (those nails) to let you know if she needs/wants to go outside and esp. if it is time for a walk. Rosie has not had much interaction with other dogs so whilst Rosie walks well on the lead when she sees another dog she forgets her manners and wants to jump all over them to play. Rosie travels well in the car but we have not taken her out to cafes with us (no seat for her on the motorbike - our preferred weekend mode of transport) to know how she would behave in that situation. Something we can try over the next couple of weeks.

- Our 2 cats are very independent and do not tolerate being picked up and cuddled. They do have their favourite times to be touched and they have different 'needs' in terms of physical contact. Our older cat, Bandit, is on medication morning & night. His medication is in liquid form so all that is needed is to mix the dosage into some wet food. No issues with him eating it. Cats are fed morning and evening at the same time as Rosie.

- Our Lorikeet, Keet (deceased mate was Lori) is in an outside aviary. Unfortunately the aviary is not under trees so until about 3pm there is no shade over it. To provide Keet relief from the heat we have a sprinkler set up on the top of the aviary. When the temp reaches 30 degrees (often still occurs in March) we turn the sprinkler on for about10mins every hr or so until the temp drops. This cools the aviary down and Keet gets to enjoy 'Singing in the Rain' - very entertaining. In the morning Keet is fed at the same time as the furbabies and around 4pm in the afternoon. Keet can be fed later provided it is before day starts turning to dusk.

Location:

2,200m2 lot (no yard maintenance required) in the leafy secluded 'Hideaway' Estate surrounded by natural bushland - wake up listening to birds (humming in the background though is the sound of traffic from Morayfield Rd & the Bruce Hwy). 10 mins away is the heart of Burpengary with everything you need on a day-to-day basis. Morayfield Shopping Centre is about 15 mins away. Buses and train at Burpengary but no public transport direct from our home to them.

Easy access to the Bruce Hwy (approx 10mins). Less than an hour to Bribie Island and approx. 30mins to the Redcliffe Peninsula.
