Requirements

Great Central location in an inner suburb of Newcastle. We're a 5-10 minute drive (or easy bus trip) to stunning beaches, restaurants, boutiques, cinemas, and Westfield. We're a few blocks from historical 'Fernleigh Track' for cycling/iwalking. Venture a little further to the famous Hunter Valley vineyards, Lake Macquarie (larger than Sydney Harbour) or beautiful Port Stephens for snorkeling, whale watching, sand dunes, or just relaxing day out

We're looking for someone to mind our home and cats while we're away on holiday.

Our home is centrally located to everything you could need and want. The local shops are a 2 min drive or 10 min easy but slightly inclined walk, with supermarket, fish and chip shop, asian takeaway x 2, butcher, coffee shop x 2, pharmacy, GP, good local pub, bakery.

A 5-10 minute drive finds you in a local eat street that offers many more cafe/dining/pub options, a few more pharmacies, fashion retail, excellent bookstores (1 new books, 1 second hand books).

Our house is a modest sized renovated weatherboard house, circa 1940's. It would suit a single or couple. Whilst technically a 3 bedroom home only the main bedroom with ensuite is available. The other rooms are my son's bedroom and an office. The ensuite is about 3 years old with underfloor heating, has a large double shower with one oversized rain shower head and another separate twin shower head that has a smaller rain shower head and a handheld. There is no bath - we're in the process of researching the bathroom renovation.

We have floorboards in the living area and carpet in the bedrooms.

There is a modern kitchen with new dishwasher and new range hood, a 5 burner gas stove and electric oven. Large leather lounge with chaise has 2 recliners (1 in the chaise), large screen smart tv, and wifi.

Reverse cycle aircon in all rooms, plus a large column heater in the living area. The house is insulated in every wall so heating/cooling is effective.

Parking is a carport on the side of the house and you enter the front door undercover from here. Plenty of on street parking is available and would fit a caravan. The driveway is slightly slopped and may not suit a caravan but you would be welcome to park it there. The garden is also modest but not tiny, with grass and established bushes all surrounding most of the property making it somewhat private.

We have 2 and half cats- the half being a local cat that visits us (mostly for food and sometimes a sleep) but also visits other locals 🙂
