We are looking for someone / couple to look after our German Shepherd and our house for a month.

Bear is 4 years old, basic obedience training, but needs an experienced handler. He is a real 'people dog', and will want to be with you most of the time. He requires at least an hour's walking and playing every day. He enjoys car trips, walking on lead in town, and particularly a tummy scratch.

Our home is on a rural property between Tumbarumba and Tooma, about 800m above sea level on the western slopes of the Snowy Mountains. Think cold winters and cool summers. We are less than an hour from Mt Selwyn snowfields, and less than 2 hours to Thredbo. Our local village, Tumbarumba, is a vibrant community with all the necessary shops, cafes, and services. Wagga is about an hour away for any major requirements not available locally. Tumbarumba attractions include some of Australia's best cool climate wineries, the first rail trail in NSW, an emerging mountain bike community and the new Snowy Valleys Sculpture trail.

Our house is almost new and was built to passivhaus standards: triple glazed windows, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, and absolutely no drafts. It is warm in winter, and cool in summer, and generates far more electricity than we could ever dream of using. It is self sufficient with a grid connected solar system and backup battery. Super-fast Starlink wifi is available.

The main building has an open plan living / dining / kitchen area, bathroom, laundry, master bedroom and spare bedroom / study. The guest house has another large bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen / living area.
