The home is surrounded by a large garden overlooking the Clarence River on Woodford Island close to Maclean / Yamba about half way between Coffs Harbour and Byron Bay. We won’t ask for the sitter to be involved in the garden while we are away but they are encouraged to enjoy it and the pool. Our major concern is our two mini dachshunds, Millie and Jasper. They are brother and sister and have never been parted from us or each other. Keeping them in their home environment is the most important thing to us as they will find us leaving them very stressful unless someone caring is home with them when we leave. They are very safely contained on our acre with secure dog fencing surrounding the garden. They also have a smaller enclosure in the backyard that adjoins the glassed in patio where they sleep so you can safely shut them in while going away during the day. We do ask that the sitter is here every night however to feed them in the evening and be with them during the evening. They are reliably house trained and have access to their backyard enclosure over night but I don’t think that they get out of bed after their last toilet. As you can see, our request is all about the dogs, we also hope that you enjoy the home, garden and the pool, but making the dogs feel secure is our primary concern.
