Requirements

We live on a small acreage in Forestdale.

I am looking for a reliable house sitter who also has experience with large dogs and can stay at home at night especially, play fetch with dogs once a day. Dogs don’t really need walking as they love playing fetch. If you work from home during the day, that’s fine. If you have to leave house for your job, that’s ok too as dogs are happy to be left alone during the day.

I have two German shepherds. They are guard dogs and live outside for property protection. They are very friendly with humans. However, being guard dogs means that they will also bark at night.

The house is comfortable, fully airconditioned, with a very large solar array. The lawn is maintained by robot mowers - we could give you the control. Mowers may need simple intervention, e.g., if stuck. There are security cameras outside and there are multiple outside flood lights on motion sensors as well, so you’d be very safe at night when outside (thinking snakes etc, although we haven’t had any). There are fruit trees with some fruit and some veggie beds. Irrigation is on timers. You could get involved with them as much (or as little) as you like. There are some potted plants that will need watering every 2-3 days or so. If you have an electric car, there’s an EV charger as well.

There is a lap pool (heated and cooled) that you could use or I could leave the cover on, to stop the wild ducks from making a mess.

If you’d like to bring your caravan/motor home etc, there is ample parking for that. You could also use the guest bedroom with ensuite.

What we would like in return is if you could please just look after the dogs, house and property in general so that house does not appear vacant to any burglars. This generally shouldn’t be the issue as the suburb is pretty safe and dogs are very alert and keep us safe. As mentioned, property maintenance isn’t much of an effort either. Happy to discuss further - please get in touch.

N.B. I would prefer if you could please come and stay with us or meet us and our dogs a day before we leave. This will allow us to introduce you to our dogs and neighbours and equipment.
