Requirements

We have a very large ground floor 2 bedroom granny flat plus 2 outdoor dogs and 4 indoor cats that we would love minded in these dates. It is in a delightful central location with a bush belt behind, very private and convenient.

RESPONSIBILITIES WITH OUR DOGS

We live on a hill, and our dogs are medium-large sized and get walked for an hour or so basically every day so please only get in touch if you are willing to walk them knowing about the hill and the commitment :-) This also minimises the pooh in the yard but for this longer stay, we would still like you to clean out the pooh in the yard (we have scoops and bags) on rubbish day. We have had many pet sitters over a number of years and there has been some wonderful experiences where the sitters want to take our pets home with them (xox), but also times that we've come home to overweight and unhappy dogs with the yard full of pooh so hope you can understand that this is very important to us and our dogs health.

THE ACCOMMODATION

The accommodation is air-conditioned and 1km downhill from the Buderim Village. We have a queen bed and 2 single beds, open plan lounge & dining plus a large kitchenette, patio, great TV and carport for one car plus room for a caravan or another car or two on the drive.

RESPONSIBILITIES INSIDE

We don't need any gardening done, but inside, the unit will be provided to you freshly cleaned, and we would like you to clean it before you leave after your 3 week stay. Please only express interest in this house sit if you are happy to do this. Whilst we've had some excellent sitters who have taken pride in how they leave the place, sadly, we have also had the experience of coming home to rubbish everywhere, food and belongings scattered through the unit, vomit on the bathroom walls, flooded kitchen drawers and broken glass. We understand accidents happen, but as our place has been treated like a motel room and party house by past sitters, it has made us very sure to make this request very blunt, but with a smile LOL! Please only make contact about this house sit if you are happy to treat our home with respect and clean it when you leave.

That all sounds very bossy doesn't it ... "walk the dogs", "clean the house" ... but I can assure you, that's only cause there's been those couple of regretful experiences that have made us more aware. Most of the time, we have had marvellous experiences with our pet and house sitters. It is a very comfortable place, the pets just make you smile all the time, and it will be a great holiday if you are happy to take care of those few things.

A BIT MORE ABOUT OUR PETS GENERALLY

The dogs are medium-large sized, very friendly with people, kids and other dogs though we would prefer no other dogs come to stay with you just for the sake of space. They are firm on the lead especially at the start but very manageable, ie: I or my hubby can walk them on our own but our preference it to have at least 2 adults so one dog can go with each person. We live in the middle of a 1.5km hill so walking is a great work out and in a beautiful area with lovely views to the ocean. A certain level of fitness is needed for this to not be a chore ;-P

The cats just need the kitty litter to be cleaned out, to be fed and water kept an eye on - they are friendly but keep to themselves. Not really lap cats but will share the couch or bed with you at times if you want them to.

A BIT MORE ABOUT OUR UNIT

We are on the ground floor of a 2 storey house. Upstairs is rented to 2 adults. They have their own access and don't share the same driveway. There are no shared areas inside or outside. Being so close to Buderim, there are cafe's, parks, shops and public transport all nearby, plus there is easy access to Mooloolaba and other beaches, inland to the Hinterland, 40 minutes north to Noosa and 20 mins south to Caloundra. There's even a beautiful waterfall in Buderim, well worth the exploring.

Due to the dual living, it is strictly non-smoking inside or outside and no partying. Of course you can have guests over, but please be prepared to pull up the noise by about 10pm for the comfort of the upstairs tenants. They will also give you the same courtesy.

AVAILABILITY

If you can't do the whole time, that's ok, we may be able to work something out with friends or other enquiries to fill the rest of the time so please feel free to still be in touch. Buderim is such a lovely part of the Sunshine Coast. It isn't touristy, and there's loads to do and enjoy but all the touristy things are still within easy reach. We look forward to hearing from you.
