Requirements

We're Graham and Liz, in our 70s and looking for a single or couple to look after our cute little 1950s cottage and pets here on beautiful North Stradbroke Island. We'll be away 11 days but we're flexible by a day each side as there's a granny flat we can stay in to make changeovers nice and easy.

Our 8 year old retriever Maggie and almost 3 year old Jack Russell X Jasper will greet you with much enthusiasm, and Chook the chook will happily spend time in her yard or free-range. Atm she lays every single day.

The cottage is simple with all mod cons including air con (small lounge, kitchen, main bedroom and 2nd bedroom), and NBN, plus there's a large rear deck with BBQ, bistro blinds, comfy seating, wifi, Google mini, and overhead heating - it's where we spend most of our time.

Amity is a relaxed and quiet little fishing village - there's a tavern at the end of our quiet, leafy road, and the general store is just a short walk on the way to the jetty/swimming/fishing/BBQ areas, and the local community club. A 10 minute walk in the other direction and you'll find great coffee, locally caught seafood, and Amity Beach.

The laundry with washer and drier is located in the garage.

'Straddie' has two medical centres, a small local hospital, a boutique brewery, other small supermarkets and fresh produce shops, a hotel/pub, golf and bowls club, and various shops and cafes. There's many wonderful sandy beaches for swimming, surfing or fishing, plus fresh water lakes and endless bush-walking and 4wd tracks. Water taxis and vehicle ferries go to the mainland every hour and are met by a bus going to Point Lookout. There's also a less frequent bus service for Amity which meets the regular bus to go to/from Pt Lookout, Dunwich, and ferry terminals.

Please feel free to ask any questions at all about the property, pets, or our beautiful island.
