Assignment Requirements

We require someone or a couple to house sit, look after our beloved 2 cats and 5 chooks plus water indoor plants. If they are able to undertake mowing and light gardening, that would be great, but not imperative.

Our house is located in a quiet township and we have a 3 acre block. Murrumbateman is 20kms south of Yass, 40kms north of Canberra and lies in the heart of cool climate wine country.

Murrumbateman has a sweet community market on the 2nd and 4th Saturday’s of each month which showcases local wines, freshly baked sourdough bread, locally grown olive oil, meats, cheeses and veggies among other things.

The 2 major supermarkets will deliver groceries if you don’t want to drive. The Murrumbateman pub has uncomplicated but wholesome pub food (everything accompanied with chips and salad or veggies and mash!!) and there is a complimentary bus to ferry you to and from the pub. 1.5km from our house is Olleyville restaurant and Shaw winery and about 20km towards Canberra is Poachers Pantry Smokehouse and winery. I guarantee you won’t be short of things to do locally!

Yass is a quaint little town with interesting gift shops, a terrific bakery (Clementine), Trader and Co coffee roasters plus an interesting food emporium called Thyme to Taste. Of course, Canberra has great restaurants, all of the cultural institutions and a burgeoning restaurant scene plus cinemas, shopping etc.
