Looking for a caring person to look after my 2 older dogs. Buster is a black & tan dachshund who is nearly 16 (though still very spritely) and Gea is a terrier cross who is 9. Gea has anxiety and has recently started medication. Buster has separation anxiety and has been on medication for some time and it has helped a lot. Both dogs are very loving and enjoy cuddles and being close to their humans. They love their daily walks. The rest of the day is spent napping or hanging out where we are.

Although we have a fully fenced backyard, we can't leave them outside for long periods as Gea barks a lot. We take them to dog parks and on walks in the neighbourhood and beyond. They can easily walk 5 - 6 kms though usually when I do this, there is a lunch break at a cafe in the middle. Gea can be reactive to larger dogs (barking and getting in their space) and so the sitter needs to be able to manage this.

I am hoping the sitter doesn't work away from home for more than 4 - 5 hours at a time as the dogs need to be let out for a wee in this timeframe.

The house has 3 bedrooms, a large living area/kitchen, a dining room and 2 bathrooms. To keep things simple, our cleaner will continue to come once/week so you will just need to do day to day cleaning up. The garden is big and we will have our gardeners come once during this period to mow the lawns and do Spring time work.

My 23 year old daughter will be at home for some of this period. As she is completing her Masters degree and working, she does not have time to care for our dogs every day. She is self sufficient and does not need to be looked after!
