A long term (approx. 6 month) house sitting position is available for prospective applicants in beautiful, popular Echuca.

This is not your typical house sitting position as it includes a small, self contained tourism accommodation business (5 units) in central Echuca. This business has been operating for over 30 years. The proprietor takes a 5-6 months break each year to travel, during the quiet winter months. The successful applicant would be required to live on the property, and attend to reservations by various booking sites, email or phone and prepare BAS statements. They would then greet arriving and farewell departing guests On average, this is approx. 1-2hrs per day and a commensurate re-numeration package is available for these additional duties.

As with most house sitting positions, the applicant would be expected to perform some maintenance (garden, repairs etc). Office hours are minimal with the majority of the day free to pursue as they wish (Daytrips? Sports? Interest clubs? etc). local cleaners are engaged on a as required. The property also has a resident, very friendly German Shepherd dog Jetta who requires walking twice daily (and lots of cuddles!).

Some knowledge of gardening/horticulture and basic home maintenance would be advantageous.

As this is a small commercial operation, there is re-numeration for additional income if interested in cleaning units, as well as run a photo studio also located on the property. These duties are negotiable.

The successful applicant would be trained in book keeping and running the business and there is a comprehensive training manual available. In addition, there is a lot of local support (staff, trades-persons etc) and contact with me 24/7 via phone or email.

The property is located within walking distance to the river, historic port and town centre. It adjoins state forest-great for exercising dogs off lead. Breakfast on the glass enclosed balcony, overlooking state forest and bathed in winter sunshine.

This position would suit perhaps a retired couple (or energetic single) who would like to enjoy a sunny relaxed winter in Echuca. Echuca is a major tourism centre for northern Victoria with excellent facilities (sporting, cultural, food etc) unparalleled for a town of this size.
